Born in Vancouver BC, Ashley recently obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Sociology at Simon Fraser University in May 2017. Her studies have led her to pursue journalism and communications work both in Vancouver, BC, and London, UK.
Ashley spent her childhood in London and returned to the United Kingdom in 2016, studying at the University of Leeds. While completing her degree, she worked to develop her communications and journalism skills. She earned job positions including communication, marketing, and research assistant roles in Vancouver, and later completed a 3-week work experience with the BBC World Service in London.
In her final year of university in Vancouver, she became News Editor for Simon Fraser University's independent newspaper, The Peak. That same year she applied and received the prestigious CBC Peter Gzowski Internship. Ashley was one of four interns selected from across Canada for this internship for CBC Radio. She has developed her journalism skills in this internship, working as an Associate Producer for various current affairs radio programs based out of Vancouver.
Following the completion of her internship, Ashley has worked as a Coordinator for Simon Fraser University's External Relations executive department.
This fall she will begin her journey at Ryerson University in Toronto where she will study her Master of Journalism. She is passionate about technology and thrives on exploring new media to connect with various audiences creatively. Whether Ashley is working in a communications or journalistic capacity, she aims to authentically share her experiences and she encourages her audience to engage and think critically about the stories and issues that surround us.

Ashley has a passion for story telling through a creative lens. While writing scripts and booking guests for various radio programs, she also edited and mixed tape from out in the field.
